Customer Questions
QUESTION: So you still leave in the cloth liner inside the pocket. while putting this on top to capture the solid? by None N 6/24/2012
STAFF ANSWER: Yes, it makes it easier to keep in that way. by Keith R 6/25/2012
QUESTION: I tried using charlie banana diapers for the first time yesterday. When I went to change my sons diaper, the paper liner had scrunched to the front, and the top layer of the fabric on the actual diaper was wet, as well as the thick cotton insert. My question is: Do I change the actual cloth diaper each time I change my son If I re-use the diaper and just change out the inserts the top fabric layer that is inside the diaper would be wet, and I'm afraid that would cause diaper rash. I'm confused. I can't imagine I'd need to change out the entire diaper with each diaper change, because I only own 12 resusable diapers, and my newborn son goes through at least 10 diaper changes a day... by Becca H 6/5/2012
STAFF ANSWER: The top layer of fabric on the diaper is a wicking material that pulls the moisture away from the baby's skin and into the cotton insert. The diapers are designed so that, in most cases, only the cotton inserts need to be changed. Some parents find it helpful to double the cotton insert or to use the cotton insert in conjunction with the disposable inserts. The disposable liners make disposal of solid wastes easier in that they can be flushed. Both the disposable liners and inserts should be tucked into the flap at the front of the diaper to help prevent bunching. Also, Charlie Banana does recommend washing the cloth inserts 4-6 times before use in order to let the fabric pores open and obtain maximum absorbency. I hope this helps, and good luck! by Laura S 6/25/2012
