Today, Little Golden Books are an icon. Children have loved Little Golden Books, for over 50 years. Parents have shared Golden Moments with their children, reading such classics as the Fire Engine Book. Thanks to the happy hours spent with the books many children have developed a lifelong love of reading. Large-scale, active pictures will transport young readers to the scene where they'll see brave firemen connect hoses and save the day!
When Little Golden Books launched in 1942 at 25 cents each, they changed publishing history. For the first time, children's books were high quality and low-priced. They were available to almost all children, not just a privileged few.
Little Golden Books were an instant success story, even though WWII was on and paper shortages loomed. Five months after the launch, 1.5 million copies had been printed.
Since then, over two billion Little Golden Books have reached the hands of children all over the world. Ages 2 & up.
